Want to get your movie fix on your iPhone or iPod touch? There are a multitude of great apps out there that can help curb your craving, whether you want to manage your DVD library or Netflix queue, watch clips and trailers, or just find the right film to see later in the day…

Find Movies:

1. Fandango – Free
Browse movies now playing and movies coming soon, watch trailers, get showtimes, and purchase tickets. This app also cues up Google Maps to get directions to theaters.

2. Hot Popcorn Movies – Free
Browse and search for movies now playing, movies out on DVD, and all upcoming releases. Watch trailers, find a list of nearby theaters, access movie details, and get critic ratings (including MRQE ratings!).

3. i. TV – Free
Boasts itself as the only movie, DVD and TV guide you’ll ever need, this app let’s you find out where and when your favorite movies and TV shows are playing; includes direct links to TiVo, Netflix, and MovieTickets.com, so you can add titles to your respective queues or purchase tickets instantly.

4. Movies (Flixster) – Free
The #1 movie app on iTunes is brought to you by Flickster (you might know them by their Facebook and MySpace apps). Watch trailers, get showtimes (buy tickets from MovieTickets.com), and share movie ratings with your friends (direct connection to Facebook); plus there’s a vast library of DVD releases as well. Also provides links to IMDb and critic reviews.

5. Movies & Theaters – $0.99
Browse for movies opening/playing, movies coming soon, box office results, showtimes (search by zip code), watch trailers and clips, and get full movie data (cast, credits, synopsis). The also have a version for the UK.

6. Now Playing – Free
Formerly known as Box Office, Now Playing app operates much like the others, giving you access to reviews, theaters, showtimes, and ticketing.

7. OneTap Movies – Free
Wi-Fi access allows the app to know where you are, and pulls information based on your area: movies playing near you, showtimes, and ticketing by MovieTickets.com. You can also watch trailers, get movie info, and reviews.

8. Showtimes – Free
Voted the Best Movie App by MACWORLD, Showtimes gives you showtimes from Fandango. You also get trailers, critic reviews, movie descriptions, and more.

Buy Movies:

1. Amazon Mobile – Free
Mobile version of their store, this app only provides a means for purchase — no Amazon On-Demand (boo!)

2. VUDU Movie Catalog – Free
Browse through VUDU’s movie library and rent or purchase titles to be downloaded to your VUDU box.

Watch Movies (well, trailers mostly):

1. iTunes Store
Apple’s iTunes Store app comes packaged with their devices, allowing you to buy/rent and watch movies and shows directly from your iPhone or iPod touch.

2. KickScreen Movie Trailers – $0.99
Plain and simple: watch movie trailers. The app now allows you to add movies to your Blockbuster or Netflix queue.

3. SlingPlayer Mobile – $29.99
Got a Slingbox? If so, with this app you can watch your TV via your iPhone or iPod touch!

4. TV.com – Free
Movies aside, to get your TV fix grab the TV.com app from CBS. Content includes full episodes from CBS, personalized feeds/custom playlists, and video updates for sports, news, and entertainment.

Manage Your Movie Library:

1. DVD Dashboard – $1.99
Keep track of and share your DVD collection. Sort your list by genre, title, etc. Includes direct links to IMDb.

2. Movie Catalog – $0.99
Just like DVD Dashboard, but with Movie Catalog you can rate the films, grab movie art, add unlimited movies, and create custom genres.

Unofficial Apps:

1. iPhlix – $2.99
Netflix Queue manager add, delete, reorder times in your Instant and Disc queues. You can also manage your account, profile, settings, etc.

2. Instant Queue Add for Netflix – $0.99
Just as the title suggests, this app allows you to manage your Netflix Instant queue.

3. iRentMovie (Netflix Manager for iPhone) – $2.99
This top customer rated Netflix app, includes all the bells and whistles of the aforementioned, but also gives you movie trailers (via YouTube).
