Even though the Mac Mini has the high price tag of 700 dollars, certain people swear by it as the go to device for home theatre. It gets high ratings as a excellently executed home PC and it could hook up to almost anything but the high price tag may make certain consumers wondering what extra features they could get for the same price in the PC world.

The iPad seems to be the magical product that Apple claims, building more and more applications every day. While the 500 dollar price may be high for some consumers, the Apple iPad shows to have multiple uses, from a media player to ereader to a home entertainment remote. And with over 3 million ipads sold, it seems like Apple has found another winner.

Editor’s Assessment: The Nuu Player is 100 dollars more than the Boxee Box but it’s added hardware is not to be ignored. An Atom Processor is much more powerful than a Tegra 2 and for anyone that is putting Skype as a priority, and it seems that Skype-oriented televisions are an addition to the not too distant future, the Nuu Player may be a worthy jump investment.

Nero’s LiquidTV offers everything that TiVo offers…straight to your PC. It allows viewers to watch live TV on your PC with the TiVo experience, experience all the familiar TiVo functionality, including using a TiVo remote control, export your shows to iPod, PSP, DVD, or transfer shows from your TiVo box to Nero Liquid TV, and burn TV shows to DVD. You’ll need a subscription to TiVo to do all these things but the LiquidTV offers a free 12 month subscription as well as support for HD viewing and timeshifting.

Variety (4/29/2009): It’s not like TiVo for your PC, it is TiVo for your PC – “To long-term TiVo users, most other personal video recording solutions, whether they’re PC-based or provided by your cable or satellite provider, just fall short. TiVo takes a complex task—recording your favorite TV shows for later playback on-demand—and makes it simple, easy, and even fun. As officially licensed TiVo software for your PC, LiquidTV delivers all the TiVo features you know and love in a PC-friendly software package.” {Read more}

An excellent, somewhat inexpensive way to watch television on your computer. The Nero LiquidTV has the same TiVo user-friendly approach (it even comes with a TiVo remote!) and it even allows you to record programs and transfer them to a iPhone or PSP.

Crave (6/2/2009): PSP Go: The offical details “The PSP Go may have been the worst-kept secret of this year’s E3 show, but Sony’s press conference has now supplied the official details. For the most part, there’s little that wasn’t already revealed or correctly assumed: the PSP Go is smaller, has a slide-up screen, no UMD drive–and no game-changing upgrades, such as a touch screen or second analog stick. ” {Read more}
